Provigil Strengthens Rail Security with ₹85 Cr Southern Railway Project, Boosting Magellanic Cloud’s Leadership in AI Surveillance.

Hyderabad, India – August 19, 2025

Hyderabad, India – (19 August 2025) Provigil Surveillance Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Magellanic Cloud Ltd., has received a Letter of Acceptance from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for the implementation of a comprehensive Video Surveillance System (VSS) across 441 D & E category stations, along with the augmentation of surveillance infrastructure at 43 major stations (categories A1, A, and B) under Southern Railway.

Valued at approximately ₹85 crore, this project underscores Provigil’s role as a trusted partner in advancing railway security. By integrating AI-enabled video analytics with robust, cyber-secure infrastructure, the initiative is designed to significantly strengthen passenger safety, operational efficiency, and real-time monitoring across the Southern Railway network.

This milestone builds on Provigil’s recent achievements, including a ₹32 crore Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for AI-enabled highway surveillance and a ₹2.25 crore LoA from South Central Railway. Together, these consecutive wins, amounting to nearly ₹120 crore, reaffirm the company’s position as a leader in delivering next-generation surveillance and advanced video analytics solutions, enabling safer, more resilient, and future-ready infrastructure across critical sectors.

Project Overview – Southern Railway

As part of this ₹85 crore project, Provigil will implement a state-of-the-art IP-based CCTV surveillance system across designated Southern Railway stations. The project scope includes:

  • IP-Based CCTV Deployment – Supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of high-definition IP CCTV cameras at railway stations and RPF/GRP posts, ensuring comprehensive surveillance coverage.

  • Networking Infrastructure – Establishment of a secure and resilient networking backbone to enable seamless connectivity and uninterrupted real-time monitoring.

  • Advanced AI Integration – Deployment of Video Management Servers, AI-powered Video Analytics, and Face Recognition Software (FRS) with scalable storage to support intelligent monitoring, anomaly detection, and rapid incident response.

This initiative underscores Provigil’s commitment to enhancing passenger safety and advancing cyber-secure, intelligent transport infrastructure.

Developed in accordance with RDSO specifications and stringent cybersecurity standards, the AI-powered surveillance initiative represents a significant leap in enhancing passenger confidence, operational safety, and system reliability. By integrating next-generation video analytics, facial recognition, and centralized video management, Provigil is enabling Southern Railway to establish new benchmarks in intelligent, technology-driven railway operations.

“These consecutive project wins, amounting to nearly ₹120 crore, highlight our strong capabilities in delivering large-scale, AI-powered surveillance solutions that adhere to the highest standards of safety and cybersecurity. With landmark initiatives from Southern Railway and NHAI, we are well-positioned to extend our expertise into airports, metros, and smart city projects, further reinforcing our role as a trusted partner in developing safer, technology-driven infrastructure for India and beyond,” said Joseph Sudheer Reddy Thumma, Global CEO & MD, Magellanic Cloud Ltd.
